I know they do for Europe/Australia.
In Canada, is an ID needed to verify an account or do they do it by bank deposits?
Thanks,
Sean

I think I'm gonna marry you. That is the happiest news I have heard about this industry in about 6 months!!!
How do they verify the account? Is it EFT like in the states?
Do they require any national numbers like a social security number, etc - something I would not have!
Thanks in advance.
Sean

xpanda said:Dave, I think that applies to people changing their address. Someone simply opening up a new account shouldn't have to jump thru those hoops. I sure didn't.
That in mind, they may have changed their policy given the new environment, I can't say for sure.
xpanda said:I don't recall having to give any ID at all, not even online. I deposited using my credit card, so the two billing addresses had to match, but that's it. I've since moved and didn't require validation of my new address. No Social Insurance number or anything like that.
To withdraw direct to my bank account, I had to verify the account itself. They deposited a few cents, and I had to state the exact amount of the deposit.
That was it.
I've never had a problem with deposits, withdrawals, or using my NETeller debit card.
